Racer Senior Bruce Carter Earns All-OVC First Team Honors

In conference games, Carter is the seventh leading scorer at 15.9 points per game and the 14th place rebounder with 5.9 per game.
Carter saved his top-seven scoring games this season for league members, including 26 against OVC champion Austin Peay Jan. 10 when the Racers beat the Governors at the
Entering Friday's OVC Tournament semi-finals, Carter carries a streak of 20 straight games with double-figure scoring. During the streak he has scored 20 or more points eight times, including a stellar 24 point-12 rebound night to lead the Racers to a 77-74 win over Tennessee Tech in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. During Carter's 20-game run, he has led the Racers in scoring 13 times and in the last eight games.
In 60 career games, Carter has scored 799 points for a 13.3 per game average. His career numbers rank among the best two-year players in MSU history (see below). He has made 44 career starts and has led the Racers in scoring in 24 games. Carter has turned in 42 double-digit scoring games and 10 games of 20 points or more. He also has a 60 game streak in which has grabbed at least two rebounds.
Carter's honor comes a year after he was named to the All-OVC Second Team as a junior, he was also named to the All-OVC Preseason Team before this season.
With Carter making OVC first team, the Racers have had a first team selection in 25 of the last 28 years.
