
Racer Rifle Posts 62-Point Win At Morehead State

The Murray State Rifle team scored a 62-point win at Morehead State in Morehead, Ky. Saturday.
The Racers started the day winning the smallbore competition by 11 points before taking the air rifle segment of the shoulder to shoulder match by 51 points.
"We traveled to Morehead and faced an OVC team that beat us last year in the OVC Championships and we were able to get a win," MSU Head Coach Alan Lollar said.
Emily Quiner and Kasey Meyer led MSU in the smallbore with scores of 578 and 577 (out of a possible 600), while Kaitlin Cleven and Ashley Rose carded rounds of 566 and 553.
In the air rifle, MSU was led by Meyer and Quiner who had 579 and 578, with Daniel Sojka scoring a 576 and Cleven added a 574.
Murray State is 3-1 in shoulder to shoulder duels this season.
MSU plays host to Texas Christian Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Pat Spurgin Range at Roy Stewart Stadium.
