Junior Alicia Tempel earn her first and the Murray State Track and Field team's third OVC Athlete of the Week honor when she was named the Female Field Athlete of the Week after her record breaking performance at the Redhawk Invitational last weekend.

The Santa Claus, Ind., native placed first in the pole vault at the Redhawk Invitational with a mark of 12'03.00”, shattering the school record of 10'11.75” that she had set in 2007. Tempel is currently at the top of the OVC Best List for the event.

The Racers are now preparing for the OVC Indoor Championships that will be held this weekend (Feb. 27-28) in Charleston, Ill.
