IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS: The Murray State Racers begin the quest for their 14th Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship Tuesday when they play host to the Tennessee State Tigers at 7:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal matchup at the Regional Special Events Center. MSU (3rd seed) comes into the contest having won their last seven league games and 10 of the last 11, including the regular season final Saturday at home against Eastern Kentucky 70-65 in overtime. TSU (6th seed) is hot too having won their last six games. The Racers finished in a tie for second place with Austin Peay at 13-5 in league play. The Racers still have the program's 23rd 20-win season in sight as they enter this contest 18-11. MSU won both meetings with the Tigers this season: Jan. 8 by a 75-71 score at the RSEC and 88-58 Feb. 4 in Nashville, Tenn.

MSU TOURNAMENT HISTORY: The Racers and Tigers have split the six games they've played in the OVC Tournament. TSU beat the Racers in the semi finals last season, but the Racers have won all three games at Murray, all quarterfinals, in 1997, 2000, and 2001. The Racers have hosted a quarterfinal game every season (13 straight) since the OVC went to campus sites in 1997 and have won the championship a league-best 13 times, the last in 2006. MSU has also won more games than any other school going 56-30. The winner advances to the semi finals in Nashville, Tenn. Friday at the Sommet Center to face the winner of (2) Austin Peay and (7) Eastern Illinois.

MSU AND WINNING: The Racers have clinched a winning season in both the OVC and overall for the 22nd straight season. MSU's conference streak is tops in the nation, just ahead of Kansas who has clinched 20 straight in the Big-12. MSU's overall streak is tied for fifth with Connecticut who has also clinched a winning season. Syracuse is the leader having clinched their 39th straight. Second place Oklahoma has clinched 28 straight, Kansas is in third place with 26, and fourth place is Arizona with 25.

RSEC - THE FRIENDLY CONFINES: MSU is now 130-25 (.838) in their 11th season in the RSEC and 92-15 (.859) in OVC play. MSU is 10-2 (.833) in OVC Tournament games at the RSEC. The only losses came to SE Missouri State 61-58 in 2005 and 70-60 to Samford in 2007.
