For the third time in as many matches, the Murray State men's tennis team found themselves in a 4-3 decision, only this time the Racers came out on with winning end as MSU defeated Eastern Illinois 4-3 Saturday afternoon in Charleston, Ill.
The Racers (7-9, 4-3 OVC) won the doubles point in exciting fashion as the final two matches went down to the wire. After dropping the match at No. 2, Ben Clos and Jose Berardo emerged with a 9-7 decision just ahead of Jadir Semensin and Jorge Caetano, who eaked out a 9-8 decision at No. 3.
Renaldo Domoney got the Racers going in singles action with an easy 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3. Caetano and Semensin matched their doubles victory with identical 6-1, 6-2 victories at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
In the most interesting match of the day, MSU's Luka Milicevic took on his brother, Vuk, at No. 2. The elder, Vuk, had the upper hand as he handed his younger brother a 6-3, 6-2 defeat.
The Racers close out the regular season Sunday morning with a makeup match against Jacksonville State. First serve is set for 11 a.m. at the Purcell Tennis Courts.
