Women?s Tennis Falls to Tennessee Tech

The Murray State women's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 decision to Tennessee Tech Friday afternoon at the Purcell Tennis Courts.
The Racers (8-7, 2-3 OVC) jumped out to the early advantage as they used two strong performances to take the doubles point. Lyndsay Ottosen and Alexis Webb got the team rolling with an 8-2 victory at No. 2 and Angela McGahee and Anne Pennington secured the point with an 8-5 victory at the top spot.
MSU did not enjoy as much success in singles action as they came away victorious in two of the four matches. Cassidy Cunitz continued her strong freshman campaign as she won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3. Ottosen picked up the other victory at No. 6 with a 6-0, 6-7, 10-8 victory.
The Racers return to action April 7 against Southeast Missouri at the Purcell Tennis Courts.
