GAME TIME CHANGED: With an approaching winter storm, the teams made a decision to move the tip from 7:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the Nashville metro area with accumulation of up to five inches of snow on Thursday. Fans have several ways of keeping up with the action. The Racer TV Network has the game live starting at 5:45 p.m., while the Racer Radio Network is on the air at 5:30 p.m. with pregame activities.
RACERS RANK HIGH: With an 11-3 mark this season, the Racers are doing a lot of things in outstanding fashion and most of their high marks come from defense. MSU is tops in the OVC in holding opponents to 39 percent shooting and three-point shooting at 30 percent. MSU ranks 60th and 70th in NCAA DI in these categories. The Racers also lead the OVC in steals per game with 11.5 which ranks them third in the nation. MSU's Tony Easley and Ed Daniel have made a formidable shot blocking duo as MSU leads the league with 5.7 per game which ranks them 30th in the nation. Danero Thomas is the leading active steals leader in the OVC while Tony Easley is the third active shot blocker.
IMPRESSIVE STREAKS: Tony Easley has a streak of 13 straight games in which he has recorded a blocked shot. Isaiah Canaan also has a 13-game streak with a three-point basket.
MAGIC NUMBER 80 & 60: The Racers do best when they either go high or keep the opponent low. MSU is 7-1 this season when they score 80 points or more and 23-5 in the Billy Kennedy era. When MSU holds opponents to 60 points or less, they're 8-0 this season and 33-5 with Coach Kennedy.
EVERYONE CONTRIBUTES: The Racers have 10 players averaging 11 minutes of playing time per game. The Racers have also spread the scoring around with seven different leading scorers this season.
THE NUMBER 11: The Racers' 11 wins in the first 14 games is the fastest to 11 since the 2003-04 team started 11-2. The Racers' played 20 games last season before getting to 11 wins.
