Canaan Earns Pepsi Athlete Of The Week Award

Murray State's Isaiah Canaan earned Pepsi Athlete of the Week honors for the period from Dec. 28 through Jan. 3.

The first-year MSU student-athlete also picked up his third Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week award because of his play in MSU's game at SIUE Dec. 30.

He certainly had a game to remember in the Racers' 82-51 victory.

The Biloxi, Miss., native came off the MSU bench and had a perfect shooting night when he hit all six of his shots from the field, including a three-point basket and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line for 17 points.

Canaan also added five rebounds, four assists and two steals in his 21 minutes on the floor.
