Women’s Tennis Concludes Fall Season at June Stewart Invitational

Results
Freshman Taylor Vick led the Racers at the event, with a 2-1 singles record and 2-2 record in doubles with fellow freshman Carla Suga. Vick earned wins over Natalia Nunes from Belmont (6-0, 6-0) and Andrea Arques from Memphis (6-4, 6-0) in the Brad Roby Draw before falling to Vanderbilt's Keilly Ulery in the title round (1-6, 6-2, 0-6).
In the Professor Valentine Doubles Draw, Vick and Suga dropped their first two sets before earning victories over Abby Hogan and Natalia Nunes from Belmont (8-6) and Abby Leatherwood and Laura Stack from Belmont (9-7).
Sophomore Ashley Canty and junior Cassidy Cunitz also went 2-2 in doubles action. The duo dropped their first match to Vanderbilt's Jackie Wu and Chelsea Preeg (4-8) and then earned wins over Lipscomb's Elizabeth Keevil/Danielle Hansen (8-4) and Kara Jackson/Alyssa Bellini (8-2) before falling to Remi Martin and Gisella Pere from Purdue (6-8).
Canty, Cunitz and Suga all went 1-2 in singles play, while senior Alexis Webb was defeated in all three of her singles matches.
The Racers first match of the Spring season is scheduled for Jan. 28 against Louisville at Kenlake in Aurora, Ky.
