Murray State Head Coach Billy Kennedy will soon gain his 100th career win as MSU coach and 200th of his career. He is now 91-48 (.655) in his fifth season with the Racers and 195-174 (.528) in his 13th season which also includes stops at Centenary and Southeastern Louisiana.
When Kennedy reaches 100 wins at MSU, he'll join only six other MSU coaches who have reached the century mark. Cal Luther (who coached for a time at UTM) is MSU's all-time leader with 241 victories from 1959-74.

The Murray State Racers get back to play in the Ohio Valley Conference when they travel to the Elam Center for a 7 p.m. Tuesday game at UT Martin. The Racers are on their best win streak of the young season at three straight after pushing their home win streak to 23 straight Saturday with a 69-60 win over klong-time rival Western Kentucky. Prior to that, MSU scored wins over Chattanooga and Bethel. MSU leads the all-time series with the Skyhawks 36-3 with the first game happening in 1979. UTM's wins have all come at home in 1999, 2001 and 2009.
In the 148th meeting with WKU, the Racers limited their turnovers to a season-low seven while forcing the Hilltoppers into 17. Isaiah, Canaan, the OVC Player of the Week, hit four straight three-point baskets from the same corner to score a game-best 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting. leading 32-30 at halftime, the Racers fell behind breifly, and led by as many as 11 points with 3:35 remaining. Since WKU left the OVC in 1982, MSU has won 10 of their 19 meetings.

In the last two seasons, MSU has set the standard when it comes to having balanced scoring from all positions on the court. It's common to see mulitple players score in a game as was the case in Racer games against Ole Miss, UNLV and Chattanooga when nine different players scored. MSU is so balanced, that they haven't had a 20-point scorer yet this season and in the 2009-10 season they only had six 20-point men and were just percentage points from having six players score in double-figures. Through 11 games this season, MSU has four players averaging at least 8.5 points per game.
