Racers Take Second Place at DePauw Invitational

Murray State's track and field team took second place at the DePauw Indoor Invitational this weekend. The Racers tallied 119 points and placed first in five events.
In the 55-meter dash Alexis Love took first place with a time of 7.26. Audris Williams came in second place with a time of 7.33. Rounding out the top five in the event was Satera Cooper with a time of 7.51.
The Racers also had two top five finishes in the 400-meter dash. Amber Mills came in second place with a time of 59.59 and Christina Johnson took fifth place with a time of 1:02.33.
Senior Taylor Crawford took first place in the 800-meter run and set a personal best time for the season (2:16.41.)
Love also took first place in the 200-meter dash (25.51). Williams placed third (26.27), while Mills took fifth place (26.86), and freshman Taylor Utsey placed ninth (27.30).
Murray State also had a strong showing in the 3,000-meter run with Katelyn Jones taking first place with a time of 10:33.80. Kayla Crusham finished third (10:46.54), Karissa Magnuson finished with a time of 11:06.94 for sixth place, and Bridget Stichnot finihsed in seventh place (11:35.61).
In the field events Utsey took first place in the triple jump with a leap of 35'8.75”.
Sophomore Lexi Barr placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 11'5.75”.
The Racers will travel to Charleston, Ill., Friday Feb. 17th to compete in the EIU Friday Night Special.
