Racers Compete at Redhawk Invitational

The Murray State track and field team traveled to Cape Girardeau, Mo. to compete in the Redhawk Invitational this past weekend.
The Racers were top performers in all of their field events. Lexi Barr took first place and set a personal best record in the pole vault with a vault of 11'6.25".
Audris Williams and Taylor Utsey came in second and third place respectively in the long jump. Williams had a leap of 17'8.25", while Utsey had a leap of 17'5.50".
In the triple jump Utsey took second place with a leap of 35'3.75".
Amber Mills placed second in the 300-meter dash with a time of 41.34. Ayerial Rouse rounded out the top five in the event with a time of 43.94.
Christina Johnson finished fourth in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:48.60.
The Racers will compete again at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Feb. 26-27, hosted by Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tenn. The meet is set to start at 2 p.m.
