Racers Take Fifth at OVC Indoor Championships

In the 55-meter dash freshman Alexis Love took fourth place with a time of 7.11, while Audris Williams took eighth place with a time of 7.25.
Love and Williams also participated in the 200-meter dash. Love took second place (25.01) and Williams placed eighth (25.67).
Senior Taylor Crawford came in second place in the 800-meter run. She finished with a time of 2:15.4662, while Eastern Illinois' Megan Gingerich finished with a time of 2:15.4612.
Crawford claimed the only first place finish for the Racers in the one-mile run with a time of 5:09.47.
Kayla Crusham, Christina Johnson, Karissa Magnuson, and Taylor Crawford took second place in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:22.65.
Katelyn Jones came in fourth place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:29.66. Jones also placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:37.72.
In the long jump, Audris Williams took 10th place with a leap of 17'8.00". Taylor Utsey had a leap of 16'8.00" and came in 16th place.
Josha Rogers took seventh place in the high jump with a leap of 5'2.25".
Lexie Barr finished sixth in the pole vault with a vault of 11'00.00"
Total points for each team were, Eastern Illinois 142 points for first place while Eastern Kentucky placed second with 128 points. Southeast Missouri finished third with 93 points followed by Austin Peay (72 pts), Murray State (67 pts), Jacksonville State (54 pts), Tennessee State (42 pts) and Tennessee Tech (36 pts).
The Racers will begin their outdoor season Mar. 26th-27th at the Emory Classic in Atlanta, Ga.
