The Pepsi Athlete of the Week for March 1-7 is Murray State basketball player Isaiah Canaan.

Canaan, the OVC Freshman of the Year came off the bench for the Racers and provided the spark that pushed MSU to the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship last Saturday against Morehead State.

Canaan hit three straight three-pointers in the second half and ended the game as the only MSU player in double-figures with 16 points as the Racers won their 14^th league title 62-51.

The Racers are waiting for Sunday when they find out their pairing for their 14^th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
