Danero Thomas Earns Pepsi Athlete Of the Week Honor

Murray State senior Danero Thomas is the Pepsi Athlete of the Week for the period of March 15-21.

Thomas, a senior from New Orleans, La., hit a jumper at the buzzer that gave MSU its first victory in the NCAA Tournament since 1988 when the Racers defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 66-65 in San Jose, Calif.

His big shot enabled the Racers to advance into the second round of the NCAA Tournament West Regional where MSU eventually ended their run with a 54-52 loss to Butler.

Thomas and the Racers had a record-setting season with 31 wins which included their 21st Ohio Valley Conference regular season title and 14th trip to the NCAA's.
