The Murray State track and field team took third place in their first outdoor meet at the Emory Classic in Atlanta, Ga.

The Racers took first place in the 4x100 meter relay. Taylor Utsey, Alexis Love, Amber Mills, and Audris Williams finished the relay with a time of 47.75.

Audris Williams came in fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.35. Satera Cooper placed sixth in the event with a time of 12.47 and Alexis Love took eighth place with a time of 13.52.

Mills claimed another first place victory in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.61, while Christina Johnson took third with a time of 59.19.

In the 1,000-meter run Katelyn Jones took second place with a time of 38:06.56.

Senior Taylor Crawford came in third place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:51.48.

In field events Lexi Barr took first place in the pole vault with a vault of 10'11.75”.

Williams also claimed first place in the long jump with a leap of 17'5.50”.

The Racers tallied a total of 93 points to give them thrid place out of 16 teams. They will compete again Apr. 2nd in the Joey Haines Invitational at Cape Girardeau, Mo.
