Ben Clos Named Pepsi Athlete Of The Week

Murray State tennis player Ben Clos is the Pepsi Athlete of the Week for the period of March 22-28.

Clos, a senior from Louisville, Ky., won two singles and two doubles matches as the Racers scored wins over Western Kentucky and Bethel and had a hard-fought single-point loss to Southern Illinois.

Clos, MSU's No. 1 singles player, scored a three-set win over Bethel's Andres Mejia 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 and had another tight match with SIU's Brandon Florez in which Clos won the third set 7-6 to get the victory.

He also teamed with MSU's Jorge Caetano for two doubles wins for the week.

MSU's next action is Thursday when they host Jacksonville State at 10 a.m. at Bennie Purcell Courts.
