Racers Drop 4-3 Decision to Austin Peay

The Murray State women's tennis team dropped a close match to Austin Peay Tuesday afternoon in Clarksville, Tenn.

The Racers battled the wind yesterday afternoon leading to a few close calls in doubles action.

Angela McGahee and Ashley Canty teamed up against Vanja Tomic and Mariana Pagan. Unfortunatley the Racers were unable to capture the win and dropped the match, 8-6.

Alexis Webb and Lindsey Wiseman paired up to defeat Michelle Liew and Demi Georgakopoulos, 8-4.

In singles action Canty defeated Pagan at the No. 3 position. Canty won the match in two sets, 6-2, 6-1.

Wiseman also pulled in a victory for teh Racers by defeating Georgakopoulos, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 5.

Senior Lyndsay Ottosen tallied the third point for the Racers by defeating Yuki Nakamura, 6-4, 7-6, (7-3).

MSU will be back home Thur., Apr. 8th at 2:30 p.m. to face UT Martin.
