Murray State Athletics is pleased to announce a new post-game activity for children age 12 and under.
Shootin' Like the Racers will allow children the opportunity to shoot free throws and layups on the main court of the CFSB Center immediately following each Racer home basketball game for the remainder of the season.
The first chance for kids to enjoy Shootin' Like The Racers is Thursday when MSU hosts Eastern Illinois in a women's – men's double-header starting at 5:15 p.m.
Kids will be allowed on the floor to shoot at the conclusion of the men's game.
The activity will be organized and supervised by the marketing and promotions department of Racer Athletics with I-Racers overseeing the shooting. For each made basket the participant will receive a Racer Buck which is redeemable at the end of the season for MSU merchandise and apparel.
“We recognize the great enthusiasm our young fans have for Racer Basketball and their desire to be on the court after the games,” Allen Ward, Director of Racer Athletics said. “We've also seen the danger of free play on the court and wanted to find a way to allow our young fans to enjoy it while watching out for their safety.”
MSU marketing and promotions will supply basketballs for Shootin' Like the Racers and requests that personal basketballs not be brought to the CFSB Center on game days.
