The Murray State Racers welcome the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks to the CFSB Center for a 7:30 p.m. tip at the CFSB Center in Murray, Ky. The game finds the Racers coming off a 61-60 home loss Thursday to Eastern Illinois, while SEMO lost Thursday at UT Martin 79-69. The Racers have won the last seven in the series since 2007 when SEMO beat the Racers on their home court.
The Racers enter Saturday trying to rebound from a late-game slip in their loss to Eastern Illinois which was only second time the Panthers have won on MSU's home court in 21 meetings. MSU had trouble from the field and free throw line down the stretch and it cost them dearly as the Racers didn't make a field goal in the game's final 10:17 and only managed 53 percent for the game from the line. The Racers forced the Panthers into 14 turnovers, but committed 18 of their own in falling to 5-3 in OVC play.

Even with a loss Thursday, the Racers enjoy one of the best home court advantages in all of college basketball. MSU, in its 13th season in the CFSB Center, has a record of 152-27 (.849) in all games and 92-18 (.836) in OVC contests. In the Kennedy era, MSU is 55-11 and 21-2 in his last two seasons. MSU recently had the fourth longest home winning (25) streak stopped with a loss to Austin Peay (Jan. 8).
Coupled with that loss to APSU, the Racers have lost back-to-back home games for only the fifth time in 13 seasons at the CFSB Center. MSU must win Saturday against SEMO or suffer their first three-game losing streak in the arena.
Southeast Missouri has had more success at the CFSB Center than any team with four wins in the 13 seasons the build has been open. Austin Peay and Samford have three, with Tennessee Tech, Morehead State, Eastern Kentucky and now EIU have two each.
In a testament to MSU's balanced scoring, the Racers are in a group of only two schools who haven't had a 20-point scorer yet this season. MSU shares this distinction with Jacksonville (11-6) of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
MSU is also the only team in the OVC that has three players with 45 or more assists this season. B.J. Jenkins (64), Isacc Miles (62) and Isaiah Canaan (45).
Thursday was a shake-up night in the OVC with league leader Austin Peay and the Racers dropping games at home. MSU missed a chance to move into a first place tie with Govs when they lost by a point to the Panthers. Tennessee Tech won at APSU for the second straight time on a last second three-pointer. The shot by Tech's Zach Swansey was ESPN's Top Play for Friday. It was announced this week that the Racers' game Feb. 3 at Tennessee has been picked up as one of the OVC-ESPNU "wildcard" games and will be shown on the network with an 8 p.m. tip-off.
