Indoor Track & Field Set Ready For Saluki Fast Start

For the fourth-straight season the Murray State women's track & field team will begin the indoor season at the Saluki Fast Start, Saturday, Dec. 3 in Carbondale, Ill. The meet will be the first of the 2011-12 campaign and marks the start of the second season for head coach Jenny Severns.
The Racers will be one of nine teams in the meet, which includes three others teams from the Ohio Valley Conference (Austin Peay, Southeast Missouri, SIU Edwardsville). Besides the host Salukis, MSU will compete against soon-to-be OVC member Belmont, Kennesaw State, Lindenwood and Maryville (Mo.).
"We are excited to be able to get out and compete this weekend,” said head coach Jenny Severns. “We have a lot of new additions to this year's team so it will be good to finally be able to see some of them in action. The team has been working really hard and this gives them an opportunity to see where they are going into winter break.”
After the meet at SIU, MSU will be idle until Jan. 13-14 when they travel back to Carbondale, Ill., for the SIU Open.
