With 19 wins, the Racers are closing in on the program's 24th 20-win season in the 86 seasons of their history and the second in Billy Kennedy's five seasons. In a testament to MSU's outstanding consistency, when MSU gets 20 this season, it will make seven straight coaches that have recorded at least two 20-win seasons.
The streak started with Ron Greene and has continued through Steve Newton, Scott Edgar, Mark Gottfried, Tevester Anderson, Mick Cronin and eventually it will include Billy Kennedy. MSU's first coach, Carlisle Cutchin (1925-41) is still the all-time leader with four 20-win campaigns.
