Murray State takes a one day break from OVC games when they host the
Evansville Purple Aces in the BracketBusters game Saturday at 7 p.m. at the CFSB Center. The Racers, who lead the all-time series with Evansville 21-10, haven't met the Missouri Valley Conference member since 2002 when they won at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Ind. by a 76-58 score. Before that game, the two teams hadn't played since 1992. MSU is 12-3 all-time against UE at home with the last game coming at old Racer Arena in 1991, a win for UE 87-80. The series began in 1943.

The first place Murray State Racers look for their ninth straight win Wednesday when they play the final Ohio Valley Conference regular season road game against Southeast Missouri State at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The 7 p.m. tip also marks the final broadcast of the season for the Racer TV Network.
The Racers have won eight straight games on the road and won the first meeting with the Redhawks 96-58 at home (Jan. 22).

With three games remaining in their OVC regular season schedule, the Racers are in the hunt to win their 22nd league championship. After the game at SEMO, the Racers finish at home against Morehead State (Feb. 24) on ESPNU and (Feb. 26) with Eastern Kentucky. It all leads to the OVC Tournament at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn., when all eight teams play in one place. Seeds five thru eight play March 2, with seeds three and four getting a pass to the quarterfinals (March 3). The top two seeds get a bye to the semifinals (March 4) on ESPNU. The championship game (March 5) will be aired on ESPN2.

At 20-6, MSU is ranked 31st in the nation with a winning percentage of .769. Since Jan. 1, the Racers are 11-2 and among the list of teams that have played the best in 2011. Coastal Carolina (13-0) is the only team without a loss. Ohio State, Belmont, Kansas, Texas, BYU and Long Island have one loss. The Racers are in the group that has two losses with: George Mason, ETSU, Vermont, Duquense, Duke and Morehead State.
