The Racers are back at home for the first time since Jan. 29. MSU is 8-2 at home this season with losses to Austin Peay and Eastern Illinois. MSU's 25-game home streak was the fourth-longest in the nation when it ended Jan. 8 against the Govs. MSU has enjoyed the best home-court advantage in the OVC having racked up a 48-6 (.888) mark in Billy Kennedy's last four seasons. In their 13th season in the building, MSU has won about 84 percent of their OVC games. It's amazing to note that MSU has only lost back-to-back games five times at the CFSB Center and have never lost three straight there.

With 18 wins, the Racers are closing in on the program's 24th 20-win season in the 86 seasons of their history and the second in Billy Kennedy's five seasons. In a testament to MSU's outstanding consistency, when MSU gets 20 this season, it will make seven straight coaches that have recorded at least two 20-win seasons. The streak started with Ron Greene and has continued through Steve Newton, Scott Edgar, Mark Gottfried, Tevester Anderson, Mick Cronin and eventually it will include Billy Kennedy.

In the Racers' 66-53 win Monday at Eastern Illinois, they had one of their famous defense lockdown segments that has become well known in the BIlly Kennedy era. Trailing by three with 7:30 remaining MSU exploded for an 11-0 run and let their defense do the talking when they held the Panthers scoreless for about seven minutes over nine possessions. MSU ended the game on a 20-4 run and got their fourth straight 20-point scorer with 21 from B.J. Jenkins who tied his career-high with five three-pointers. MSU hit 12 threes for the game, one under their season-high.

MSU's first coach, Carlisle Cutchin (1925-41) is still the all-time leader with four 20-win campaigns.
