The Breds play their first midweek home game of the season as they play host to Arkansas State on March 2. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. and is the second matchup between the two teams in as many weeks. Last week, the Red Wolves defeated the Breds, 8-4.

The Breds are playing their second game against Arkansas State in as many weeks. Last Tuesday, MSU traveled to Jonesboro, Ark. and dropped an 8-4 decision to the Red Wolves.

The weather in the Murray area is looking good for Wednesday as they are calling for sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60s.
Breds Win Home-Opening Series
For the second time in the last three seasons, Murray State won its home-opening series when they won the series against Bowling Green. Two seasons ago, MSU won the home-opening series against South Dakota, but dropped the series to the Jackrabbits in 2010.
Breds Win Series vs. Bowling Green
The series victory over Bowling Green marked the first time in five series that the Breds have won the series. MSU split the series in 2002, but dropped series in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
Pitching Dominates BGSU Series
After struggling in the opening series, the MSU pitching staff dominated against Bowling Green. In the three-game series, the Breds pitchers allowed just four earned runs, while striking out 13. Of the six pitchers that threw, none allowed more than two earned runs and the staff posted a 1.80 ERA for the weekend.
First-Inning Runs
The Breds offense helped their pitching staff in the series against Bowling Green, as MSU scored two runs in the first inning in the first game, three runs in the first in the second game and a single run in the first in the series finale. MSU had not scored in the first inning in its first four games.
Frey Continues to be Hit
Elliot Frey entered his senior season as the school's all-time leader in being hit by pitch after being hit 39 times in his first three seasons. So far this season, Frey has been plunked by four pitches, raising his career total to 43. Frey is also the single-season leader after being hit by 16 pitches his freshman season.
Finch Earns First Career Save
Freshman Cameron Finch earned his first career save in the series opener against Bowling Green as he allowed one earned run on two hits and three strikeouts over three innings.
Eggo's First Hit Thrice as Nice
Redshirt freshman Brandon Eggenschwiler made the most of his first collegiate hit as he delivered a two-run triple to right center in the first inning in the Breds 4-3 victory over Bowling Green.
On Deck
The Breds remain at Reagan Field as they welcome North Dakota State for a four-game series. The teams will play one game Friday (2 p.m.), a pair of games Saturday (12 p.m.) and a single game Sunday (12 p.m.)
