Racers Traveling To Missouri State For NIT Showdown - Tuesday 7 p.m.

NIT Bracket
The Racers are the 6-seed in their bracket, while Missouri State is the 3-seed. The winner of the game will take on the winner of 2-seed Miami(FL) and 7-seed Florida Atlantic. Alabama is the 1-seed in Murray State's bracket and will host Coastal Carolina the 8-seed with the winner being paired with either 4-seed New Mexico and 5-seed UTEP.
The Racers are making their sxith appearance in the NIT and have an all-time record of 2-6.
MSU's last NIT game was in 1996 at Missouri which was an 89-85 loss. MSU's two wins came in 1980 against Jacksonville (53-49) and Alabama (70-62) under Coach Ron Greene. MSU's run was ended with a loss to Illinois (65-63).
Only three other current members of the OVC have participated in the NIT: Austin Peay, UT Martin and Tennessee Tech. Former Members Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky competed. The OVC is 17-27 all-time in the NIT.

The Racers won a second straight Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship in rolling up a 23-8 overall mark, 14-4 in league play, while the Bears were regular season champs of the Missouri Valley Conference with a 15-3 record and were 25-8 overall. The Racers lost in the semifinals of the OVC Tournament, while the Bears made it to the championship game before being eliminated.
