“I am so excited for Lexie,” said head coach Jenny Severns. “She works so hard and really deserves to hold the outdoor pole vault record at Murray State.”
Senior Josha Rogers was also strong in the field events for the Racers, taking third in the high jump with a jump of 1.69m (5'6.5”). Freshman Katie Forshey placed seventh in the same event, with a personal-best jump of 1.59m (5'2.5”). Forshey also participated in the javelin, earning 16th with a throw of 20.15m (66'1”), and the 400-meter hurdles, with a personal-best time of 1:06.21 (7th).
MSU had two other athletes earn top-10 finishes in the meet. Junior Kayla Crusham finished ninth in the 3,000, with a time of 10:28.68. Crusham was one of six Racers to run the race, with senior Kristin Reffett finishing with a personal-best time of 10:48.50.
The final member of the roster to finish in the top-10 was junior Christina Johnson. Johnson placed eighth in the 400 in 58.46.
Five other members of the roster finished their events with personal records. Reffett hit a mark of 27.17m (89'2”) for 12th in the javelin, while senior Becca Lamb hit a personal-best mark of 18.04m (59'2”) in the same event. Freshman Ashley Moss hit a mark of 7.26m (23'10”) in the shot put for the final personal best in the field events.

“I could not be happier with how the meet went today,” Severns added. “Everyone did great. They are really starting to explode.”
The Racers were schedule to compete in the 200, and the 2,000-steeplechase, but the events were cancelled due to lightening in the Nashville, Tenn., area.
MSU will continue its outdoor season next weekend at the Joey Haines Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 2.
