The Murray State volleyball team was swept, 3-0, on Friday night in an OVC contest at Eastern Illinois.

In the first set, the Racers had trouble getting any offense going and were topped, 25-11. In the second set, Murray State was able to battle back from being down 18-12, but still fell, 25-19.

In the third set, the Racers (4-15, 2-7 OVC) finally found their offensive stroke and tied the set at 22 late in the stanza. However, the Panthers (6-16, 3-6) were able to stymie to MSU offense and closed out the match on a 3-0 by taking the decisive set, 25-22.

Freshman Taylor Olden led the Racers with 12 kills on the night, while senior Lia Havili tallied 17 assists. Defensively, freshman Jodie Klein paced MSU with 8 digs, while sophomore Kelsey Van Oss has two block assists.

On Saturday, the Racers will return to action in Illinois when they travel to SIU Edwardsville for a 2 p.m. showdown.
