Rifle Heads to Ole Miss to Face Familiar Foes

The No. 5 Murray State rifle team travels to Oxford, Miss., on Saturday for the second time this season. The Racers will face familiar foes in Oxford as they will be facing Ole Miss and Jacksonville State for the second consecutive week.
Last weekend MSU shot a season-high aggregate of 4651 but lost a tiebreaker with Jacksonville State who also shot 4651. Ole Miss finished with a score of 4609. Murray State shot a season-best team score of 2314 in smallbore at the match and shot its third-highest output in air rifle with an aggregate of 2337.
The Racers were led by Kelsey Emme's 1171 aggregate score. Emme also shot a career-high 585 in smallbore at the match. Tessa Howald shot a career-best score of 590 in air rifle to lead the Racers in that discipline.
Saturday's match will be Murray State's second of four consecutive matches against Jacksonville State. MSU will face the Gamecocks five times in a six match span during this season. It will also be the first of three straight matches on the road for the Racers.
