Road Win Streak 16 As Racers Win 61-54 At Arkansas State

The Murray State Racers stretched their road winning streak to 16 Wednesday night with a 61-54 win at Arkansas State in the Convocation Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Pulling away late, MSU kept its remarkable road streak alive while pushing their mark this season to 9-1.
Stacy Wilson led MSU with a career-high 13 rebounds and 12 points, while Isaiah Canaan added 18 for the Racers who have won six straight overall.
In a tight game that featured 13 lead changes, the Racers and Red Wolves (6-4) were tied 47-47 with 8:03 remaining when MSU reversed a poor night at that point from three-point range (3-of-18) with back-to-back threes from Canaan and Dexter Fields for a 53-47 lead with 6:47 left.
MSU led again by six with 4:57 left when Brandon Garrett made a slam dunk.
ASU made a run and cut MSU's lead to one with 1:25 left when Wilson drilled a three-pointer to give MSU some breathing room with 58 seconds remaining.
MSU held the Red Wolves to no field goals in the final 3:53 and held their opponent to 36 percent shooting on the night including 2-of-15 from three-point range. MSU didn't burn the nets up, but did enough to get the win. MSU was 41 percent from the field and 28 percent from three range on 6-of-21 shots.
MSU won the rebound battle 41-30. Garrett pitched in eight rebounds on top of Wilson's 13.
Freshman Erik McCree hit his first three-pointer as a Racer and ended the day with seven points and three rebounds.
MSU trailed at the half 27-26.
MSU hits the road for a Saturday 11 a.m. central time tip at the University of Dayton for their final game before Christmas. CBS Sports Network will carry the game from the UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio.
