Three members of the 2011-12 women's track & field team will be traveling to Notre Dame, Ind., to participate in the Alex Wilson Invitational, as a last chance indoor meet to try and hit a mark to advance to the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Junior Alexis Love will be participating in both the 60 and 200, while sophomore Sharda Bettis will run in the 60 and the 60 hurdles. The last member of the team to participate in the meet will be freshman Tonia Pratt in the weight throw.
Love claimed the 2012 OVC Indoor 200 title, with times of 24.05 in the prelims and 24.19 in the finals. Bettis was first in the 55 hurdles, with personal-best times of 8.07 in the prelims and 7.99 in the finals. Pratt was the final member of the team to earn an individual championship at the OVC Indoor Championship, with a career-best throw of 17.79m (58'4.5”) in the weight throw.
An automatic qualifying mark in the 200 is 23.12, 7.23 in the 60, 8.10 in the 60 hurdles, and 21.00m in the weight throw.
