Poole And Canaan Named NABA All-District 19

NABC All-District Teams
Murray State men's basketball landed senior Donte Poole and junior Isaiah Canaan on the National Basketball Coaches Association All-District 19 team as announced by the association.
The awards help cap an amazing 2011-12 season for MSU that both players were big parts of. MSU heads into the NCAA Tournament Thursday when they face Colorado State in Louisville, Ky.
Poole (Las Vegas, Nev.) went from being a role player his first three seasons to an All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team selection this season. Poole had 24 games in double-digit scoring and was second on the team with 14.2 points per game.
Canaan (Biloxi, Miss.) became a three-time All-OVC pick as a junior and was named the OVC Player of the Year. Canaan ranked among the best scorers in the country at 19.2 points per game and is also being considered for the all the major awards for this season including, the Cousy, Naismith, Wooden, Robertson and Henson Awards. Canaan has already been named to the Sporting News All-America Team.
Poole and Canaan are joined on the NCBA All-District 19 team by Tyler Stone (Southeast Missouri), Kevin Murphy (Tennessee Tech) and Robert Covington (Tennessee State).
