Women’s Tennis Set to Play Three Spring Break Matches

The Murray State women's tennis team will be playing three matches over Spring Break. The Racers (5-7, 1-0 OVC) will first host Harding, Thursday, March 22 at noon at the Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts.
MSU will then hit the road for two Ohio Valley Conference matches. The first stop will be in Martin, Tenn., Saturday, March 24 to battle with UTM at 2 p.m. The Racers will then travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., for a Sunday, March 25 match with Southeast Missouri at noon.
Harding is currently 12-3 after losing its last match. The Lady Bison, who are an NCAA DII team, will face LeMoyne-Owen College Wednesday, March 21. MSU has faced Harding once in school history, with the Racers earning a 7-0 win March 3, 2011 in Arkansas.
The Skyhawks are 3-8 overall and 1-0 in OVC action this season after claiming a 6-1 win over SEMO March 18. UTM and MSU have faced each other 69 times in the all-time series, with the Racers owning a 51-18 advantage. However, the Skyhawks earned the win in the last meeting (March 21, 2011). The series currently stands 26-13, in favor of MSU, when played in Martin.
The Redhawks are 3-6 overall and 0-1 in OVC play this season. SEMO will have one more chance to improve its record before facing the Racers, as they host Austin Peay, Saturday, March 24. MSU currently has a 40-2 advantage in the all-time series and has been the victor in the last 17 matches. When playing in Cape Girardeau, Mo., MSU owns an 18-2 advantage in the series.
