Women’s Tennis Returns to the Courts for Two Weekend Matches

After eight days off, the Murray State women's tennis team will return to the courts for two matches in Murfreesboro, Tenn., at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. The Racers (4-4) will first play Middle Tennessee, Saturday, March 10 at 11 a.m. and then play a neutral match against Northern Iowa, Sunday, March 11 at 11 a.m.

The Blue Raiders are 6-4 on the season after winning their last match at Florida Atlantic (4-3) March 3. MTSU has played one team from the Ohio Valley Conference this year, earning a 6-1 win over UT Martin.

The match with MSU will be the 38^th in the all-time series that dates back to 1973. The Blue Raiders own a 27-10 advantage in the series, including victories in the last 19 matches. The last meeting was Feb. 18, 2011 in Murfreesboro when MTSU won 6-1.

UNI is 8-4 in 2012 and has won two-straight matches. The Panthers last outing was March 3 when they defeated Green Bay (7-0). UNI will play one match before facing the Racers, as they battle with UTM, Friday, March 10 in Murfreesboro.

This will be the first meeting between the Racer and the Panthers.
