Love 200m Win Highlights Day 1 At Vanderbilt Invitationals

Alexis Love continued her domination this spring as the Murray State Track and Field team kicked off action at the Vanderbilt Invitational Friday afternoon at the Vanderbilt Track Complex in Nashville, Tenn.
Love picked up her third straight win of the season in the 200m, placing first in the event by one tenth of a second in 23.25.
She was joined in the 200m by teammates Halie Holloway finishing in 26.45 (32nd) and Megan Campbell in 27.44 (41st)
Kayla Crusham and Anna Grimes finished back-to-back with season-best times in the 3000m steeplechase, with Crusham placing third in 11:24.21, and Grimes a second and a half behind in fourth in 11:25.86.
Rebecca Hbetamu and Carolyne Tanui also finished in succession for the Racers in the 5000m with a pair of personal best times. Hbetamu finished eighth in 17:44.20 with Tanui in ninth in 17:46.92.
Abbie Olliver and Brittany Bohn rounded out MSU in the running events Friday in the 1500m, with Oliver placing 15th with a personal best of 4:45.86 and Bohn finishing in 4:58.43 to place 25th.
Sydney Potts gave the Racers a 5th place finish in the javelin with a distance of 36.10m. Rebecca Lamb was two spots back in seventh in 34.56m, and Ashley Conway threw 26.53m to place 11th.
Tonia Pratt was the highest of three MSU entrants in the shot put, scoring 13.69m to tie her personal best to finish sixth. Conway threw 11.96m in 10th place, and Addie Paris was two spots back with a throw of 11.82m.
Conway was the lone participant for Murray State in the long jump with a mark of 5.05m to finish 13th.
