Paducah Sun Offers "Season to Remember" On MSU Amazing Season

The amazing 2011-12 season for the Murray State Racers men's basketball team is the subject of a special book published by The Paducah Sun.
The 64-page commemorative book is now for sale and will be a keepsake for all MSU fans after the Racers had what is perhaps their greatest season in the 87-year history of the program. From the double-overtime win against Southern Mississippi to the Racers' rally against Memphis that made Murray State a national curiosity, and the growing lopsided win-loss column that eventually captured the spotlight, “A Season To Remember” archives the long trail to a 31-2 record season.
The Paducah Sun offering includes game photos and many stories as they appeared in the Sun throughout the season. The book also includes reprints of Sun sports pages, and statistics. The book includes a foreword from Murray State's Bennie Purcell.
“The special publication, sponsored by Paducah Bank, is a testament not only to the hard work of Murray State's men's basketball team, but the way the region came together in support of its team,” said Susan Guess, Paducah Bank marketing director. One dollar of every book sale will be donated to the Guess Anti-Bullying Fund in Coach Steve Prohm's name.
A book signing event with Coach Prohm is set for May 24 from 5-7 p.m. at Paducah Bank's Strawberry Hill location, 4575 Pecan Drive in Paducah from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Books are also available for purchased at a cost of $16 each at the Paducah Sun location (408 Kentucky Avenue in Paducah, Ky.) Office Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Phone orders are welcome by calling (270) 575-8600.
