Women's Tennis Opens Fall at Austin Peay

The Murray State women's tennis squad opens its 2012 fall season this weekend as the Racers travel to Clarksville, Tenn., for the Austin Peay Fall Tournament.
The Racers return All-OVC Second Team members from a year ago in Ashley Canty and Carla Suga. Carolyn Huerth also returns to the MSU program after a solid freshman season last year. Murray State also has three newcomers this season on the squad in freshman Megan Blue, Erin Patton and Suzaan Stoltz.
MSU is led by first year head coach Olga Elkin. Prior to Murray State, Elkin spent two seasons at Kennesaw State.
"I'm very excited to be coaching my first tournament here at Murray State," said Elkin. "We've trained well in the preseason and I think that the girls are ready. We're excited to start competing this weekend."
The tournament this weekend will feature eight teams in women's play, including four OVC opponents. There will be four flights in singles play and three in doubles competition, including consolation rounds for both.
The Racers will play in three tournaments this fall. They will head to the Southern Miss tournament in October and the Arkansas State tournament in early November.
