Murray State Men's Golf hosts ninth annual MSU Invitational at Miller Memorial GC on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 1-2).
The Racers have won all eight previous championships since the event started in 2004, including last season when they scored a 10-shot win over Lipscomb.
Murray State will field two teams in the group of 11 schools that includes OVC members: Belmont, UT Martin and Morehead State. The rest of the field includes: Bethel (TN), Brescia, Christian Brothers, John A. Logan, Kentucky Wesleyan, Lipscomb and Union (TN). UTM and Bethel will also field two teams.

The tournament scoring record of 197 was set by Scott Stallings of Tennessee Tech in 2005. Now playing on the PGA Tour, Stalling's scores were 68-63-66=197. Stallings' 63 is also the single round record for the event.

Murray State's starting five for the tournament is anchored by the senior trio of Tyler Brown, Patrick Newcomb and Hunter York along with sophomore Jordan Smith and freshman Preston French.
