Racers Travel to Southern Illinois for Saluki Open

The Murray State track and field team will travel to Carbondale, Ill., for the Saluki Open on Friday and Saturday. It will be the Racers' first meet of 2013 and second of the season.
Facing the Racers at Southern Illinois will be Belmont, Bethel (Tenn.), Central Arkansas, Lincoln (Mo.), Missouri State, Southeast Missouri, Southwest Baptist (Mo.) and Victory University.
Day one will feature three field events with the weight throw, long jump and pole vault. The remainder of the field events and races will be completed on Saturday. In all, the Racers will be competing in 13 events at the meet.
The first set of field events will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at the SIU Recreation Center.
