Tessa Howald recorded the second-highest aggregate rifle score ever at Pat Spurgin Range for the Murray State rifle squad during the two-weekend Withrow Open.

Howald recorded a season-high score of 584 in smallbore and tied her second-highest output of the season in air rifle with a score of 590. Howald's aggregate of 1174 is the highest this season for a Racer. As a team, MSU shot a score of 4620.

Michael Burzynski scored the second-best in smallbore for MSU during the competition, finishing with a score of 575. Kaitlyn Wilson recorded a 571 in the event.

Wilson also had the second-highest output in air rifle for the Racers, scoring a final of 581. Burzynski recorded a 579, while Marisca Mozeleski finished with a 575.

The Racers recorded the fifth-best team score over the two weeks of competition, which saw 13 teams compete.

The Racers will now set their focus on the OVC Championships on Saturday hosted by Morehead State.

MSU was without one of its top shooters at the event in Kelsey Emme. Emme was in Munich, Germany during the Withrow Open competing in the Bavarian Airgun Championships where she finished in eighth place and recorded a score of 398/400.
