The Murray State track and field team will travel to Carbondale, Ill., for the third time this season for the Southern Illinois Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Racers opened the 2012-13 season back in December at SIU and were also there in early January.

The Racers are coming off a trip to the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Ind., last weekend. Sophomore Ashley Conway took third place in the high jump with a leap of 5'-03” and 13^th in the long jump with a jump of 16'-7.75” at Indiana.

MSU set six new career-bests at last weekend's meet and will look to build upon that momentum going into this weekend's meet. The SIU Invite will be the Racers' second-to-last meet before the OVC Championships at the end of February.

This weekend's event will begin Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. with the weight throw, the long jump and pole vault. Saturday morning will begin at 10 with the shot put.
