Racer Basketball Visits KY Oaks Mall

Members of the Murray State University men's and women's basketball teams spent Tuesday evening at the Kentucky Oaks Mall greeting fans, signing autographs and giving away 2013-14 schedule posters. The event was sponsored by Paducah Bank and Bristol Broadcasting's Electric 96.9.
"We really enjoy bringing our teams to Paducah," stated Associate Athletic Director Paul Bubb. "Whether its baseball playing SIU or UK at Brooks Stadium or having our basketball teams meet our fans here at the Kentucky Oaks Mall, Paducah is definitely part of Racer Athletics and we are happy to come and spend time here."
Susan Guess, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Paducah Bank, explained why they sponsored the "Meet the Racers" on Tuesday evening.
"There are many gratifying success stories with regard to the work we do at Paducah Bank every day," said Guess. "But one of the 'extras' that comes along with that gratification is the pride we take in supporting and investing in the institutions in our region that also work to make our area successful."
Murray State is a shining example of a local university whose reputation and respect is felt throughout our state and beyond. Paducah Bank believes that when any organization is successful in our midst, we all succeed together.
"This week it was an honor for us to sponsor a Meet the Racers event here in Paducah so that all of us in this community could be a part of the excitement and athletic achievement of the Racer basketball program," said Guess.
In addition to the teams being at the Kentucky Oaks Mall, Electric 96.9 Morning Show host AJ Martin was also at the event.
The Racer men play an exhibition game Saturday (Nov. 2) at the CFSB Center when they host Freed-Hardeman at 7 p.m. The women's team will host Berea College in an exhibition game Sunday (Nov. 3) in the CFSB Center at 4 p.m. Doors open for both games one hour before tipoff.
Season tickets are still available through the MSU Athletic Ticket Office at the CFSB Center during regular business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.), by calling the ticket office at 270-809-3000, or by going on line at GoRacers.com and following the ticket office link for men's or women's basketball tickets.
