Women's Tennis Drops Match to Evansville

The Murray State women's tennis team dropped a non-conference tilt Wednesday afternoon at the Kenlake Tennis Center, losing to Evansville 5-2.
The Racers (1-3) picked up their first doubles point of the season in the match, winning at number two and number three. The duo of Megan Blue and Carla Suga won their match over Kelsey Costales and Marina Moreno 8-4 at two, while the tandem of Erin Patton and Suzaan Stoltz won at number three over Gaby Fifer and Emily Richardson 8-5.
Suga picked up the Racers' singles victory against the Purple Aces, winning over Mina Milovic at number two singles, 6-0 and 6-4.
Patton and Carolyn Huerth lost a pair of hard-fought three-set matches at number four and five, respectively. Patton fell to Moreno 6-7, 6-2 and 6-4, while Huerth lost to Fifer 2-6, 6-4 and 10-5.
To round out the match, Canty lost at number one singles 6-4 and 6-4 to Natasha James. While Blue and Stoltz both lost 6-1 and 6-2 at number three and six, respectively.
Next up, the Racers will host Lipscomb on Friday in a match beginning at 9:30 a.m.
