Women's Tennis Drops Non-Conference Match at Chattanooga

The Murray State women's tennis team dropped its final non-conference match of the season on Wednesday afternoon. The Racers fell to Chattanooga 7-0.

Ashley Canty fell at number one singles 6-4 and 6-4 in the match. Carla Suga was defeated at number two, 7-6, 6-2. Megan Blue's two-match winning streak was snapped as she fell at number three singles, 6-4 and 6-0. Erin Patton lost at number four 6-0, 6-1. Carolyn Huerth and Suzaan Stoltz lost at number five and six singles, respectively. Huerth fell 6-1, 6-2 and Stoltz was downed 7-6, 6-4.

Chattanooga also swept the doubles matches, winning at number two and three doubles, 8-1 and 8-3, respectively, defeating the teams of Blue and Suga (two) and Patton and Stoltz. At number one, Canty and Huerth's match went unfinished.

The Racers (4-7) will return to OVC action with a pair of road matches this weekend. MSU will travel to Charleston, Ill., on Saturday for a tilt with Eastern Illinois at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, the Racers will face SIU Edwardsville at 11.
