Racer Basketball Featured On Responsibility Project

The Murray State men's basketball program has been featured in a new video that was posted this week for the Liberty Mutual Responsibility Project. The Responsibility project is an award-winning content platform that is “A place to talk about what it means to do the right thing.”
Given the visibility and attention that the Racer Basketball program has received in 26 straight winning seasons and especially in the last two seasons under Head Coach Steve Prohm, it's easy to see why the leaders of The Responsibility Project were interested in the Racers. It was only fitting when the program found the Racers when it looked for a collegiate basketball team that had a great effect on its community.

The production crew spent four days with the Racers at the end of the regular season and attended MSU's Senior Day game (March 2). Several places in Murray, Ky., were featured along with MSU fans, coaches and student-athletes.
Emmy-award winning filmmaker Josh Seftel was the director of the story with Murray State Basketball.
Seftel's work has appeared everywhere from movie theaters to PBS, HBO, Showtime and Bravo. He has had the pleasure of working with Olympian Allyson Felix, former NFL player Troy Vincent, Princeton's athletic director Gary Walters, musician Josh Ritter, and celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich in his previous films for The Responsibility Project.
Launched in 2008, the Liberty Mutual Responsibility Project site features over 1000 pieces of original short films, essays, interviews and blog posts from contributors ranging from Academy Award-nominated filmmakers to journalists from such publications as The New Yorker, GQ, National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, Wired and more.
