Steve Prohm Basketball Camps Off To Great Start

The 2013 Steve Prohm Basketball Camp series got underway this week with the annual Mini-Camp. Over 60 campers, ages 5-7, attended the four-day event where they learned basketball fundamentals, as well as life lessons. Attendees got the chance to interact with the MSU coaching staff and managers, as well as current and former Racer players.
Each day featured a "Word of the Day" like "discipline" to help campers understand how a team works, beyond just the X's and O's. Other daily activities included warm-ups, line drills, group activities and the ever-popular "Ice Cream Shot," in which a member of the coaching staff launches the ball from well beyond half-court. If it goes in, it's free ice cream for everyone.
This week was the first of four Steve Prohm camps this summer. There will be a team camp on June 14-15, a youth camp for ages 7-17 on June 17-20 and a second youth camp for ages 7 through those entering the seventh grade on July 29-August 1.
