STORY LINES
The Racers look for their second-straight victory as they welcome Missouri State to The Track in their first game against an FCS opponent this season.
The Racers and Bears are meeting for the third time in the last four seasons. The two teams played a defensive battle in Springfield last season, after an offensive explosion occurred in the last meeting in Murray. MUR won both meetings, 28-23 last season, and 72-59 in 2010.
Murray State set a modern-day scoring record against Campbellsville as they scored 83 points in the 83-14 victory. The previous record was 72 points scored against Missouri State in 2010. The Racers had a balanced attack in the victory as they rushed for 313 yards and threw for 324.
The Racers also set a record by scoring 41 points in the first quarter. MUR scored six of their eight possessions in the first quarter, and also got an interception returned for a touchdown.
Redshirt freshman running back Marcus Holliday had a career day as he ran for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 18 carries. He became the first Racer back to rush for over 100 yards this season.

Racers Set Scoring Record
Murray State set a modern era scoring record when they scored 83 points in the 83-14 victory over Campbellsville. The 83 points bests the old record of 72 set against Missouri State in 2010. The 83 points are the fourth-most points ever scored in a game.
41-Point Quarter
The Racers also set a record by scoring 41 points in the first quarter against Campbellsville.
62-Point Half
The 62 points put up in the first half against Campbellsville set a new school and OVC record for points in a half. The previous record was 49 points, held by three different teams, including the Racers vs. Tennessee Tech in 2012.
Lucky 13
Murray State set another school record by scoring 13 touchdowns against Campbellsville. The previous record was 10, against Missouri State in 2010 and Iowa Wesleyan in 1967.
4th Largest Margin of Victory
The 69-point victory over Campbellsville was the fourth largest margin of victory in school history. The three larger margins of victory came against Will Mayfield College (113) in 1928, Louisville (105) in 1932 and North Alabama (86) in 1928. Â
Sims Sets Sack Record
Junior Chavez Sims set a new single-game record when he recorded four sacks against Campbellsville. He broke the previous record of 3.5 held by Austen Lane (2007) and Anthony Hutch (1996). Sims finished the day with six solo tackles and a forced fumble.
Holliday Has Big Day
Redshirt freshman Marcus Holliday recorded his first career 100-yard rushing performance in just his second game. Holliday rushed for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 18 carries against Campbellsville.
Brady Finds Endzone 4 Times
Senior Duane Brady became the 10th Racer running back to rush for four touchdowns in a game when he ran for four scores on just 10 carries against Campbellsville.

Senior Darrell Smith found the endzone for the first time in his career as he picked off a pass and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown against Campbellsville.
