Taylor Competes at ITA Championships

Men's tennis senior Adam Taylor competed this past weekend at the ITA All-American Championships. The tournament is one of the nation's largest, boasting more than 100 competing schools, from all over the country.

Playing in the pre-qualifying round, Taylor faced off with Tomas Hanzlik of Penn St. Hanzlik, who had already qualified for the tournament, defeated Taylor in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

Coach Purcell was proud of Taylor's effort after the loss: "Adam played well against a tough opponent. That's why I brought him here, to face strong competition early in the season. I thought he played well. He lost a couple of tough set points, but facing this kind of competition will make him better."

Taylor and the rest of the Racers will move on to their second fall tournament, the Paducah Sun Open, this weekend, Oct. 4-5, hosted by Murray State.
