Racers Return To Friendly Confines Of The Bank

The Racers and Golden Eagles first met in 1930 and were part of the founding group of schools that started the OVC in 1948. Their 170 games is the most for MSU against any opponent. MSU has won the last three since TTU's 2011 win in Nashville at the OVC Tournament Semifinals. MSU has won the last seven home games since TTU won in 2005.Â
The game at the CFSB Center marks TTU's first visit in more than two years. MSU won the last meeting 82-74 in what was their 18th straight win to start the season. The Racers were the final undefeated team in the nation at 23-0. The TTU game on Jan. 14, 2012 was the first of six straight sellouts and set the attendance record for the building at 8,691. About a month later (2-18-12) 8,825 watched the Racers host Saint Mary's which is the current record for the CFSB Center.
MSU enters the game on a six game home win streak at. MSU's last home was to Middle Tennessee (Nov. 26). The Racers are 190-33 (.850) in 16 seasons at the CFSB Center and 111-22 (.832) against OVC opponents.
The Racers have a doubleheader day coming up Saturday when they host the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. The women's game begins at 5:15 p.m. with the men's tip scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The game is a White Out game in support of the Murray/Calloway County United Way. All fans are encouraged to wear white to the game.
The Murray State home game was moved up due to a potential electrical outage from the extreme cold weather the area is experiencing.
Fans attending the game are still encouraged to wear white in support of the United Way White Out.

Sapp scored 21 and 20 points and Jonathan Fairell grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds. MSU led by five at the half at SIU Edwardsville last Saturday but lost 67-60. Jeffery Moss led the Racers with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

Payne, the frontrunner for OVC Freshman of the Year, is ninth in OVC scoring at 15.0 points per game and fourth with 5.3 assists. Jarvis Williams is second with 10.2 rebounds a game and 13th nationally. Moss is third in the OVC and 59th in the nation shooting 86 percent from the free throw line.
