Last Regular Season Home Match Against APSU

The Murray State volleyball team will host Austin Peay Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Racer Arena. This is the last regular season home match for MSU (22-4, 13-1 OVC), who just clinched their first ever regular season title this weekend.

The Racers took home their first ever regular season title after sweeping both UT Martin and Southeast Missouri this weekend. The sweeps marked the 13th and 14th on the season. Against UT Martin, Scottie Ingram had a match high 14 kills to go along with seven digs and three blocks. Taylor Olden recorded 12 kills while only committing three errors on a .526 clip. Sam Bedard put up a match-high 25 assists to go along with eight kills and six digs. Her eight kills is a season high. Ellie Lorenz dished out a match-high 16 digs. Against Southeast Missouri, Sam Bedard dished out 39 assists and 13 digs, Olden turned in 15 kills and 11 digs, while Kristen Besselsen added 14 kills and 15 digs. Lorenz put up 15 digs while Ingram helped with 10 kills.

Austin Peay (14-16, 8-6 OVC) holds a 37-31 advantage over Murray State, but in the recent years, APSU holds the advantage. The Lady Govs have a 10 match winning streak going into the match. MSU last faced Austin Peay on September 30th and took their only conference loss this season (0-3).

The Lady Govs went 1-1 this weekend after defeating Southeast Missouri State (3-0) and then falling to UT Martin (0-3). Hillary Plybon turned in a match-high 11 kills, while Aubrey Marsellis and Jada Sotts added 10 kills apiece. Cami Fields dished out 24 assists, followed by Marsellis with 18. Jada Stotts helped defensively with 15 digs and one block. In the loss to UT Martin, Sammie Ebright recorded 12 kills on a .474 clip, while Hillary Plybon added 10. Fields and Marsellis tallied 19 and 17 assists, respectively. Fields also had a team-high 14 digs.
